Linden Ave Station is located on the 500 block of E. Linden Ave in the
Proper Section of Lindenwold. It is currently the home of Squad 63,
Squrt 63 and the reserve engine (formerly known as 6311). Meetings are the first Tuesday of the month at 8pm. There is a Duty Crew working on Monday evenings from 5pm to 11pm. If you are interested in joining please stop by on any Monday or Tuesday to pick up an application package and talk to the members. Recently the members of the Linden Ave station have decided to keep some of the oldest traditions in the fire service alive and well, banding together to remodel the back room quarters. Recently President MacBride appointed a committee to look into sprucing up the back room quarters at the Linden Ave Station. On Friday, March 14, 2008 the men started the arduous task of removing the entire drop ceiling, tiles, lights, tracks et cetera. Upon safe removal the crew proceeded to mark the existing paneling and make a vertical cut all the way around the room. Once the cut was made the men started to remove the upper portion of the paneling down to the sheetrock, and studs below. Under the direction of Captain Craig Wells, Captain Rich Stinsman, Lieutenant Brett Hoag, and Firefighters John Rech Jr., Kevin Wells, Albert Miller, and who ever happened to wander in worked well into the early morning hours of Saturday. As with most jobs around the firehouse we should see a light at the end of the tunnel as long as the men stay focused on there task at hand. The ultimate goal is to re-sheetrock the upper portion of the backroom and paint it, install a chair rail molding on top of the pre-existing paneling which will be scuffed and re-painted. Then install a new drop ceiling, carpet, and flooring tiles as needed through out the remainder of the area. There has been some discussion of adding a backdoor, and new windows to the room. Through teamwork and determination it looks like the men will get the job done. It is times like these that make friendships stronger and helps the men bond together to achieve a common goal. updates will be forth coming in the weeks to come, so stay tuned to this page of the web site and watch a work in progress. |
